Philippians | Part 8
Philippians 4:10-23 // I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
14 Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. 15 Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; 16 for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. 17 Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. 18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. 19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Greet all God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send greetings. 22 All God’s people here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
1. Why do you think contentment can be so tough for us? If you have experienced a moment of genuine contentment, how did it impact your life—your friendships, your work, your family?
2. What stands out to you about the Philippians’ generosity? What could it look like in your life to sacrificially give finances as the Philippians gave to Paul?
3. When have you had to trust God’s provision? In what ways does trust relate to the contentment we talked about?
4. Rejoice in God, Be generous, Learn contentment, Remember God is working, Recognize this letter is about Jesus: Of these five principles, which of these do you want to begin practically living out in your life?
5. What’s one thing you want to remember from this study of Philippians? What could you do this week to apply that truth to your life?

Love God Love Others Cart
We are currently gathering items for children within the local foster program. We are needing new or gently used duffel bags, suitcases and luggage. These are crucial and desperately needed when children have to pack their belongings. Most kids currently have nothing more than a garbage bag for their things. Please shop or gather gently used items and bring them on Sunday and drop them in the Love God Love Others Cart.

Monthly Financial Update
Last week, Pastor Chris shared the Hebrew word, Avodah, which translates into “worship in three areas” – work, service, and praise. Practically, this looks like serving with everything we have: time, energy, and money. Every week you will find in the program a financial update including our total tithes and offerings and monthly operation costs for the previous month. This is to keep you informed on our current financial status. January Tithes & Offerings $23,848.10 | Operating Cost: $19,013.43
How To Get Involved? There are a few different ways that you can financial give and support The River Church. First is by using the envelope in the little bucket by your row on Sunday morning. Fill out the details on the front and drop it in the offering during the service. Second is by using our secure online form on our website at TheRiverChurch.net/give to give using your credit or debit card. Third you can text the amount you would like to give to 84321 and follow the prompts for setting everything up the first time. Then after that you can quickly and easily text an amount to give.
